Small Town: Go ahead, get angry. Remember, I’m a hypocrite here, spending time on the Internets and blogging so much my daughter simulates the experience with her dolls. It is a mess and I’m wondering what the outcome will be.

Oh man. I was going to get all angered with you, but more than once, I have checked out at Old Navy while talking on my phone – though I always cover the phone and whisper to the 22 year-old cashier, “I’m sorry for being so rude.” (Of course, they don’t know how to respond.)

Yesterday I went to a mother/daughter book club meeting and two of the moms were checking their iPhones during our discussion. Two out of five moms.

So yeah – they are rude, but honestly, so am I. It’s all a mess, isn’t it?

Tweens and their cells. I am often challenged with the cell phone usage as well. . . especially during carpool. I drag my sorry butt and oversized SUV to pick-up a carfull and the ones that tex and crank call their friends are downright RUDE! At least you can do is acknowledge the driver with a hello, please and thank you. I don’t want to hear you call all your BFFs and ask ‘what-up?’ – HELLO! didn’t you just see them at skool 2 seconds ago??? Waste of time. What happened to engaging conversation?

I’m with you. Though I do text a good bit and may have even been guilty of checking texts (and replying) during a conversation. Usually because they’re texts from someone about something important–or because it’s my man. I’m guilty.

But overall? Yeah. I’m with you.
